This too shall pass | Fatema Master

I am not a very religious person, but I do believe in God – I have faith.I also believe that everything happens for a reason; we might not be able to identify the reasons immediately, but the reasons are always for our good. And that there is tremendous power in prayers – not necessarily it’s a particular God that we might pray to, it’s just praying to a greater force that we know does exists – the One that is responsible for things that is beyond the control of man. We as humans are selfish beings; we always pray for the well-being of our family and friends , but today we have been put in a position that the prayers need to be for the well-being of the entire world. That’s the only way we can collectively fight against this catastrophe, no..??

When darkness falls and fiends amass
You must recall
“This too shall pass”
When hope seems lost and not to last
You must repeat
“This too shall pass”
As fires rage searing sand to glass
You must remember
“This too shall pass”
In fear and doubt, whether near or past
You must recite
“This too shall pass”
In love alone, hold tight, hold fast
Even Hell recedes
It too, shall pass –Immanuel R. Knight

P.S : The mosque that is seen in the background is Bait Ur Rouf Mosque, in Bangladesh designed by Ar.Marina Tabassum. This mosque is on my top ten list of ‘architectural buildings to visit before I die’. Isn’t it a pretty view – the little illuminated circles that we see formed on it’s flooring, they are not artificial lights ; they are openings in the roof (skylights) creating those patterns on the devotees. They appear as though they are blessings from above..:))
